Como ya es costumbre, los mantengo al tanto de los cambios mas importantes en nuestros foros.

En estos momentos se esta llevando a cabo la que es probablemente la última fase beta de la version 3.6.0 de vBulletin. Como pueden intuir con el numero de versión, es una revisión mayor a el software de vBulletin con cambios importantes en la funcionalidad del mismo, tanto para usuarios como para su administración. Lo cual implica como es de esperarse modificaciones igual de importantes al funcionamiento interno del software.

¿Qué significa esto para Deuterio?, principalmente, algunas modificaciones que se han hecho para mejorar el foro pueden dejar funcionar temporal o permanentemente. En los casos de las modificaciones más importantes:

vbAdvanced (sistema de portal/administración de contenido):Ya existe una version compatible con vB 3.6.x. Realizaré su correspondiente actualización junto con la correspondiente a vBulletin.
vbBux/vbPlaza (sistema de puntos): Ya existe una version compatible con vB 3.6.x y la versión oficial actualmente en uso. Pronto realizaré su correspondiente actualización en preparación a la correspondiente a vBulletin.
vBookie (sistema de apuestas con puntos): A la fecha no hay versión compatible con vB 3.6.x. No hay ningún anuncio al respecto por parte del autor.
vbJournal (sistema de bitácoras/diarios/blogs): A la fecha no hay versión compatible con vB 3.6.x. No hay ningún anuncio al respecto por parte del autor.
Photoplog Pro (sistema de galerías de imágenes): A la fecha no hay versión compatible con vB 3.6.x. El autor ha hecho el anuncio de que espera tener lista una version compatible en las fechas en que la versión final sea lanzada.
SR Classifieds (sistema de anuncios clasificados): A la fecha no hay versión compatible con vB 3.6.x. El autor ha hecho el anuncio de que espera tener lista una version compatible en las fechas en que la versión final sea lanzada.
GARS (sistema de artículos y reseñas): A la fecha no hay versión compatible con vB 3.6.x. El autor ha hecho el anuncio de que espera tener lista una version compatible en las fechas en que la versión final sea lanzada.
Una vez concluida la actual fase beta, se planea lanzar el primer Release Candidate. Siendo ya una version considerada estable, esa será la primera actualización a la versión 3.6 aplicada en este foro. Debido a ello, las modificaciones mayores ya mencionadas sin version compatible con vB 3.6 probablemente dejen de funcionar, y con ellas tambien es posible que algunas modificaciones menores sufran la misma suerte. Esperen mayores datos al respecto de este anuncio en el transcurso de las siguientes semanas.

As it is tradition, I keep you informed about the most important changes in our forums.

In this moments the probable last beta phase of vBulletin's 3.6.0 version is underway. As you might think by the version number, this is a major revision to the vBulletin software with important changes in it's functionality, for users and administration alike. This implies equally important modifications to the inner workings of the software, as to be expected.

What does this means to Deuterio?, mainly, some modifications might stop working temporaly or even permanently. In the most important modification cases:
vbAdvanced (portal/content management system): There is a vB 3.6.x compatible version. I will upgrade it at the same time I do vBulletin.
vbBux/vbPlaza (points system): There is a vB 3.6.x and 3.5.4 compatible version. I will soon upgrade it in preparation to the vBulletin upgrade.
vBookie (point betting system): To date there is no vB 3.6.x compatible version. Neither any announcement from the author has been made.
vbJournal (journal/dairy/blog system): To date there is no vB 3.6.x compatible version. Neither any announcement from the author has been made.
Photoplog Pro (image galleries system): To date there is no vB 3.6.x compatible version. The author has made an announcement of an incoming compatible version around the time the final vB 3.6 version is released.
SR Classifieds (classified ads system): To date there is no vB 3.6.x compatible version. The author has made an announcement of an incoming compatible version around the time the final vB 3.6 version is released.
GARS (article and reviews system): To date there is no vB 3.6.x compatible version. The author has made an announcement of an incoming compatible version around the time the final vB 3.6 version is released.Once the actual beta phase is concluded, there are plans of launching the first Release Candidate. Since this is a estable version, this will be the first upgrade applied to the 3.6 version in this forums. Due to that, the previously mentioned major modifications without a vb 3.6 compatible version will most probably stop working, and with them possibly some minor mods will stop working too. Wait for more info about this announcement.

Yes, it's me again, this time to announce we have working the new vbBux/vbPlaza version, so we are ready on that part to move on to vbulletin 3.6.0, there are also some minor functionality changes but those will be gradually implemented so there's no bigger trauma involved ;)

Soooo, let's start the hype, what will we have to play with on the new vbulletin version? I'll be posting new interesting features for users and the most important administration ones so you get a feel of what's to come.

First one, multiquote functionality. You guys will be able to quote multiple posts in a seamless fashion, just by clicking a button in each post that you want to quote, once you click the reply button you will have each quoted post added automagically to your reply box. Besides, you will have a linked button in each quote that will redirect to the original post. It sounds like a silly thing, but once you play test it you'll see it's quite the usefull feature. Check the attached pic to see more or less what I'm talking about.

Edit: Also, you'll be able to easily quote posts from another threads in a similar fashion.

More and plentiful use of AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) in the following functions of vBulletin:

Mark forums read
Buddy/Ignore lists
Saving search preferences
Thread ratings
Username autocompletion in various tasks
Pop up list of attachments in a thread
Reputation system
Instant view of deleted/ignored posts

All this little improvements will also improve forum usability and performance. This version adds other improvements non-AJAX-powered but also very useful.

Automatic resize of oversized image attachments
Edit reason available from quick edit
Improved thread sorting controls
Search results as threads or posts from quick search box
Improved signature permissions
Uploadable signature images
Improved Captcha (image verification) system, it even allows guest-posting
RSS posting robot, now as a standard feature, not a third party hack.
Recieve private messages only from users in buddy list
Quota Warning for private messages
Better attachement thumbnail display
Pause and resume attachment downloads (if the browser supports it)
Better announcement system
Improved RSS feeds with Podcasting support and cached data.
